RailOne Crosses 4.76 Crore Downloads, Books 10 Lakh Tickets Daily

RailOne has crossed 4.76 crore downloads within a year, with 10 lakh tickets booked daily. Indian Railways is also preparing to launch the stable version of its upgraded IRCTC website soon.

IRCTC’s integrated railway reservation app RailOne has crossed a major milestone within a year of its launch, with more than 4.76 crore users downloading the app and around 10 lakh online railway tickets being booked through it every day.

Launched in July last year, RailOne brings multiple railway services onto a single platform, including online railway reservations, UTS ticket booking and food ordering. According to an official Indian Railways statement, the app was handling around 10 lakh online rail ticket bookings daily as of August 2, 2026.

Of these, 2.9 lakh were reserved tickets and 7.24 lakh were unreserved tickets. The Railway Ministry issued the official statement on August 12 regarding the app’s growing usage.

RailOne offers a single-sign-on facility, eliminating the need for passengers to keep separate apps on their phones for different railway services. Through the app, users can book reserved tickets as well as UTS unreserved and platform tickets.

The app also allows users to link their Rail Wallet, helping reduce the time required for ticket bookings. Other facilities include checking PNR status, tracking train status, accessing Rail Madad and ordering food during a journey.

Railway data shows a sharp increase in online reserved ticket bookings over the past few years. Around 89% of reserved tickets are currently booked online, compared with 49% in 2013-14.

The use of apps for unreserved ticket bookings has also increased. At present, 39% of unreserved tickets are booked through apps. The Ministry said RailOne has crossed 4.76 crore downloads.

Indian Railways has also taken steps to improve the ticket booking experience with a new IRCTC website. Its beta version was launched last month, while the final and stable version is expected to be launched soon.

The new website features significant changes to its user interface. Railway authorities are also preparing to increase its bandwidth, after which millions of tickets can be booked simultaneously.

The growing adoption of RailOne, alongside the planned upgrade of the IRCTC website, marks a significant expansion of digital ticket booking and railway services through integrated platforms.
